Connecting your smartphone, MP3 player, tablet or iPod to your car can be a lot more functional than just plugging in a headphone jack. At Progressive Audio we have a wide range of wired and wireless solutions that connect your car and your specific portable device so that you can access your music, enjoy great sound and still keep eyes on the road.
iPod Integration
At Progressive Audio we are Apple device specialists. We have many solutions for both the classic 30 pin dock connector and the newer Lightning connector. Whether an iPod, iPad or iPhone, we can show you solutions to connect your Apple device to your car’s audio system so play/pause/next/last track is controlled from the radio, the device gets simultaneously charged and, in many cases, song information and album art is also displayed on the radio. The solutions allow you to keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
- Aftermarket head units with iPod connectivity – we have many aftermarket head units featuring iPod connectivity. If you’re considering a radio replacement, this is a great way to expand the features of your car’s audio sources while increasing safe driving habits. We offer both single-DIN and double-DIN sizes to fit in your car’s existing radio location with minimal installation challenges. In addition to iPod connectivity, many aftermarket head units allow internet connectivity, real-time navigation and traffic reports, satellite radio, HD radio and a host of other technologies that make replacing your car’s existing radio a great value at Progressive Audio.
- Adding iPod connectivity to a factory radio – If your car has a new, integrated radio in the dashboard and removal is not recommended, we offer many solutions to connect an iPod to your car as if it were a factory installed option. Full support of charging, device control and (in most cases) song information displayed on the factory radio are standard. We can offer this feature at a fraction of the cost of the new car dealership, which lets you allocate some attention to improving the sound, too.
Android Integration
We offer some wired and wireless solutions for Android-based devices that allow easy connection to the car’s audio system. As many Android devices are smartphones, we can connect music over the same Bluetooth wireless connection used for hands-free calling. Enhanced profiles in the devices allow streaming audio with control of volume, play/pause/next/previous track and other features. Charging the device can be done via hard wired plugs stashed neatly in your console, glove box or other locations so you omit the messy coiled cigarette lighter charging cords. Many of our newest aftermarket in-dash head units offer specific Android connectivity that use micro HDMI/MHL connections that ‘share’ the Android device screen on the aftermarket head unit. Visit our system design experts at Progressive Audio to review all of your specific options if you’re an Android tablet or smartphone user.
Other Devices
Our installation experts can integrate virtually any portable device with audio (or A/V) outputs. Whether it’s an older MP3 player you want to use as a dedicated music storage device in your car or carrying in a game console, if it has audio outputs we can design and engineer a method to connect it to your car’s audio system. We also work with Microsoft Windows Mobile and Blackberry phones that store digital music files. Additional services of hard wiring charging connections for the devices or other power requirements are also available. If you don’t see what you need, just ask.
If it’s a portable device – phone, tablet, music player or just about anything else – we know how to get it connected easily and reliably in your car.
